PLEASANT POINT STOCK SALE
There was not a big yarding of sheepat the Point sale yesterday, but a fair sale resulted, the majority of the yarding changing hands at late prices. Fat bntcners' sheep were back about Is, whilst ether classes of stock maintained thiir poikk-n, forward sheep selling particulars well. Ihe following are quotations":—Fa:- ewes, 9s, 10s Id. 10s 4d, ICs 6d, lis to 12s 3d; forward lambs, IDs, 10s Ad. lis 6d, 10s 9d, lis Id to lis 4a; store limbs. 8s to 9s; very forward fat three-quarter-bred wethers, 14s; backward stcrc wethers, 10s. Theie was a sma.l v:.ru;;:g of cattle. Heifers sold at £4 no i.4 ICs and fat stock up to £5 15s. THF. OA3IAJUJ GRJIdTiIAREET. • THE HOME MARKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cable message dated London, February 7th-—The market for hides is quiet, but holders will only sell at considerably over the market value. Since our last telegram prices of leather are higher by one farthing per lb, •while basils jure unchanged. The following cable message dated London, February Bth, has been received from the Agent-General:—"Average prices today are Canterbury mutton, 3£d; Dunedin, Sonthland and Wellington Meat Company, sid; other North Island, 3£d; River Plate, 3£d. The mutton market is weak. Trade in mutton is very disappointing, there being only a very hand-to-mouth demand for New Zealand. Canterbury lamb, s&d. The high quotations for lamb lately sent to New Zealand were merely for a few selected carcases, and cannot be taken as any indication of the feneral market price. Shipments of River 'late lamb are increasing. Australian shipments of lamb, now arriving are very heavy. The beef market is firm; New Zealand hinds, 4|d; fores, 3id. There is a good demand for butter at 109s. New Zealand butter i 3 giving satisfaction to buyers. The cheese market is firm; goo 3 fair Wellington on the spot, £57; March-May shipment, £35. There is no alteration "in the cocksfoot seed ' market. since last week."

In pigs 7 weaners brought i7s each and 6 porkel's 545. A quantity of implements, drays, etc., sold at satisfactory prices.
