Proudlock, who is specially engaged for this department, while their plays and recitations were the outcome of the instruction of their teachers, Mr McLeod, M.A., Mr Jones (second assistant), and Mr D. McCaskill. The exhibitions of physical drill we're much enjoyed, and were the more acceptable that some of the dances and marches had been given on previous occasions. Several of the songs were encored, notably those of Master Viven Coira and Miss Lissack. All the recitations were very good, and the entertainment as a whole must be characterised as excellent. Prior to the close of the performance. Mr Levens, chairman of the. School Committee, returned thanks to the audience for their patronage, and praised the staff for their efficient training of the children.
