Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 1. Speaking at the dinner of the Post and "Telegraph Officers' Association last night, Mr Gray, Secretary of the Department, said :that the revenue for the past three months, notwithstanding penny postage, showed very substantial results. He explained that the Postmaster-General hoped within twelve months ta make one or two amendments in the direction of benefiting the rank and file of the service.
DUNEDIN, December 1. Two ladies' purses were found on him, one of which has been identified. He gave the name of Frederick Matthews, lately from Christchurch.
