CKRISTCHURCH, October SO. Several horses were on the course this - morning, though not much fast work was attempted. Rain is badly needed, and the course proper is being watered. Glenogle ran a good mile on the plough in Imin 45sec. Military beat Calibre and Peerage over half a mile in 48 3-ssec. Pampero was too /good for Ayrdale in a strongly run five furlongs. Dundas alone did six furlongs in lmin 17sec in good style. Djin Djin, with Windwhistle, went a mile and a half on the plough in 2min 42 3-5 sec, the Cup candidate going well. Fnrnien and Will-o'-the-Wisp went once round, the last four furlongs in 54sec Nearly ail the other horses were given slow to three-quarter-pace work. Several two-year-olds were sprinted two or three furlongs.
