Per Press Association.

GHRISICHURCH, October 29.

When General Sir Hector Macdonald was at the Normal School he ..expressed a wish to see the rifles which are used by the boys in their drill. On being shown some Snider rifles used by teachers in the drill, he said—" More modern weapons should be supplied- The boys read as much as we do, and know very well when they are given an obsolete nfle.
