GKBORNE, October 22.

The Poverty Bay Agricultural asd Pastoral Association's show bsgan to-day. and extendes over to-morrow. The weather was fine, and there was a record attendance. In all classes there was better competition than formerly, and choice selections from the studs of leading Auckland and southern breeders are in competition, including Shorthorns bred by Messrs McHardy Bros., Mr Douglas McLean, Mr McMaster, Archdeacon Williams and Mr D. Reid; Lincoln rams from the flocks of the Anstralirin Land Company. Mr Sutton, Messrs Perry Bros., Wilson, Tanner, Craig Brcs., -and Romneys from Messrs Wheeler, Bridge, Harding and Woodward Bros. The judges are: —Mr J. Hockers, Fielding, for light horses; and Mr McLean, Hawke's Bay, for draught horses and cattle; Mr J. Williams, Hawke's Bay, sheep. Many visitors from other districts are present, and more are expected to-morrow. Blair Gowrie won the draught stallion championship. Flaxbourne, bred by Sir George Clifford, took two firsts in thoroughbreds, beating Swordfish LT. and Strowan. Mr H. N. Watson's Beau Ideal, bred by Mr McMaster. was the champion Shorthorn bulL Mr Kirkpatrick secured the Lincoln ram championship with a ram bred bv Mr B. Sutton.
