WESTPORT HARBOUR.
HIGH INSURANCE RATES.

WESTPORT, October 21. At the meeting of the Westport Harbour Board to-dsy, strong objection was taken to the insurance rates en freight seat to Westport, these races being higher than those charged en height shipped to Greymouth and Eokitika. Mr Griffiths, a member of the Board, said that in the circulars "■ from the Old Country the also \ placed higher for geeds supplied to We?t- ---' -port than to the other ports. Members i"a3ed to undersand Tray the bast port on the coast shpuld be treated in this fashion, and appointed Mr Colvin, M.H.R., to make inquiries at Wellington.
