TEMUKA BICYCLE CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Temuka Bicycle Club was held at the club-room in tne Wallingford Hotel on Saturday night. There was u. lair attendance. Mr D. jlcpjialriflj the president, seat an apology for non-attendance, and Air Gaze was voted to the chair. The honorary secretary, Mr E. Cutten, -" read the annual report. It directed attention to the fact that several secretaries had been called away to other places duriqj the year, and this had been some disadvantage to the club. The officials had secured Mr Cutten's services to assist them in their dilemma, and these had been of value. The sports meeting was a distinct success. As would be seen by the balance-sheet, the club had devoted £SO of its funds towards the cost of asphalting the track, and the work was one of great value.
The balance-sheet showed the total re- ' ceipts, including a balance of £24 10s lOd, to have amounted to £l6O 5s 7d. The expenditure, apart from incidentals, was ■principally upon prizes and the track, and - the year closed with a credit of £l4 15s ~ **• ■ * The report and balance-sheet were adopt- ■ «d as read, on the morion of the chairr man, seconded by Mr Whelan. i A hearty vote of thanks was passed to | the retiring officers. J. captain, Mr J. Whelan; vice-captains, Messrs B- ConL nell and James Orr; committee, Messrs . W. Grant, E. Cntten, J. H. Anderson, J. Connell and W. Moore (Winchester); delegates to South Canterbury Centre, Messrs Heatlev and Anderson (expenses to be re- ' funded" to an amount not exceeding 12s 6d). Mr F. T. Pannell was appointed to ' represent the club on the League Council. ; - The services of Mr E. Cutten as honorary secretary were acknowledged, and the sum of three guineas were voted to him as an - honorarium. The members' subscription was fixed at 2s 6d, and it was decided to ascertain the - cost of badges, the same to be worn at all runs or wherever members appear for the club. „-, It was decided to hold a club run on Thursday next, members to meet at the club-room at L3O p.m. and proceed to Waitohi sports. This, concluded the general meetmg, and a vote of thanks was passed to the chair. After the meeting Messrs R. Connell and J. Connell were presented with the gold championship medals won at the last sports, the chairman making: a few appropriate remarks and congratulating the men on their prowess. Mr Whelan also enlarged upon the splendid riding of B. Conned and was pleased to see his brother following suit. The presentations were suitably acknowledged. _____^_—-
