The Inter-State eight-oar race on theParamatta river resulted as follows: Victoria 1 New South Wales 2 South Australia 3 Queensland 4 From a good start the New South Wales' crew got best away and maintained their lead to Blaxland Point, where the Victorians, whose form, throughout was much superior to any of the others, forged ahead. The local crew stuck manfully to their work, and made some good spurts towards the finish, but could not overhaul the Victorians, who won by a length} and a quarter. Queensland and South Australia were practically out of it early in the race. Six of the South Australian men, who were originally chosen, were sick, substitutes replacing them. Time, 17mm 42sec. - The Amateur Sculling Championship was •won easily by Daley, of New South Wales, who beat Slack, of Queensland.
