In the House of Commons, the Deceased Wife's Sister Bill was read a second time by 279 votes to 122 votes ; the majority including Radicals, some Unionists, and thirty Nationalists, Mr Ritchie, raid Mr Austen Chamberlain. • No Minister spoke for or against the Bill. Sir Michael Hicks-Beach, Mr Brodrick, Mr Gorst, and Viscount Crnnbome voted with the Ministry.
