FAIRLIE STOCK SALE.

There was a large entry at the monthly sheep sale at Fairfie yesterday, the entry totalling about 12,000" There were oyer 30 different lots, and the accommodation provided by the yard proved quite insufficient, not from lack of space, but for -want of fuxtfeer Every alley, the roadway, and &e pound yawls were occupied, and -stall "boxing" could not be - avoided. There was a drop in prices, but on tie whole a fair sale whseh would have bees better ted it been known that there -was such ai large number of sheep to come forward, «o that buyers from a distance -irodld -have been attracted. There was a good attendance, but few buyers from beyond the-locality. The following are quotations of •■sales : —Lambs, backward, ?s 9d, 9s 6d; medium, ICs to lis; good, 12s, 12s 6d, 33sg forward and 2at, 13s, 13s 3d. Ewes, fuH-mouthed merinos,, 5s 6d; six and eight-tooth half-breds, 10s; fullmouthed "do., 12s, 12s 3d, 12s 6d, 13s; two and four-toothed, 16s 6d.
