Per Press Association. January 2. The lawn, tennis-championship meeting was continued to-day: in splendid 'weather, the courts being in fine condition. Results : LADIES' SINGLES. ■ Miss M. Simpson won semi-final, lea.ing Miss K. Van Asch. -MEN'S DOUBLES. R. Dl Harman and J. U. Collins received a walk over, Laishley and. Adams being scratched. LADIES' DOUBLES. In the semi-finals Misses Nunneley and Lean beat Miss M. Ramsay and F. Campbell. „, The lawn tennis championship meeting was , continued to-day under the most favourable conditions so far experienced. The men'-s championship singles was won by A. W. Dunlop, of Melbourne, after a great game with J. C. Peacock, of Auckland. - Four, sets -were played, .of which Dunlop won- the last three. The winner gave a fine exhibition of tennis. His placing was exact, and his volleying on fore and back" hand quite a revelation to New Zealanders. Peacock played up well against such a formidable- opponent, and Dunlop thinks that another year will see Peacock champion. The surprise of the meeting came in the men's championship doubles, when Parker and Peacock, of Auckland, beat A. W. Dunlop and S. F. Diddams, the Victorian champion pair. Peacock fairly excelled himself,.playing the best game on the court. Parker started very much below form but improved in the last two sets, his. cross court shots being particularly deadly. The whole five seta were played, but the Victorians only won the second and third. Peacock and Parker easily disposed of Harman and Collins in the final. In the ladies' championship singles, Miss M. Simpson won the! final round, and has now to. play Miss Nunnely for the championship. In the final round of the ladies' doubles Miss Nunnely and Miss McLean had - a very easy win over Mrs Marchbanks and Miss O. Gore, of Wellington. LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. SINGLES. Final round: Miss M. Simpson beat Miss K. VanAscb/ 4-6, .7-5, 6J. MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES. —Third round: J. U. Collins.and R. D. Harman, a bye; H. A. Parker and J. C. Peacock beat A. W. Dunlop and S. F. Diddams, 6-4,, 0-6, 840, 9-7, 6-4. Final round—H. A. Parker and J. C. Peacock beat J. U. Collins and R. D. Harman, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4. LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES. Second round: Misses Nunneley and Lean beat Misses M. Rainsay and F. Campbell, 6-3, 8-6. Final—Misses Nunneley and Lean beat Mrs Marchbanks and Miss O: Gore, 6-0, 6-3. MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES.— Final: A. W. Dunlop,.Melbourne, beat J. C. Peacock, Auckland, 4r6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-4....
