4» • United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. Eeeeived April 14th, 8,55 a.m. Sydney, April 14. A man named Davis died at his residence m Darlington of plague. Kennedy died m quarantine. ' Received April 15th, 4.50 p.m. April 15. Fresh cases of plague are Mrs Miller, of Clarence Lane, and Dalladi, who returned to the city to-day after a week's visit to the country. Received April 16 Lh, 12.30 a.m. April 15. There were four freah cases of plague to-day. A man named Haynea was found unconscious m the street, and died of the plague. Wakeham died m quarantine. The supposed eaae of plague at Goulbourn, a mau named Wilberforce, went down from Sydney on Friday. He had previously been inoculated. Six patients were released from quarantine, cured, and five others are convalescent. The Indian Gavernmenfc have advised Mr Lyne that they unable to Bend a first-clasß plague expert, who also knows how to prepare the serum, but they could send a capable officer without this special training. If necessary they could keep Sydney well supplied with serum. Mr Lyne states that there are several gentlemen m Sydney acquainted with the measures for combatting and treating the plagile, therefore he does not intend to accept the Indian Government's qualified offer. Eeeeived April 16th, 1.5 a.m. Mr Mills, interviewed, said the quar* antine restrictions, the outcome of the plague, were causing the Union Steamship Company a loss of many thousands monthly. He anticipates that there will be a further shrinkage of business, and it remains to be seen whether it will be possible to keep up communications between New Zealand and the Other colonies on present conditions. The Intercolonial Health Conference adopted a series of resolutions dealing with the plague. The resolutions are not available, but it is understood that they provide for action between the colonies m reporting and dealing with any outbreaks, and the quarantining of shipping.
