CRICKET.
VISIT OF AN AUSTRALIAN TEAM. Ptr Press Association. CHRIBTOHURCH, December 7. Mr Raphael received a letter to-day from Major Ward ill, stating that he will bring over a Victorian cricket team, consisting of eight Melbourne Cricket Club men and three professionals. The team will leave Sydney on Jannary 26th, and play their first match at Auckland. A friendly cricket match will be played on the Athletic ground, Timaru, on Saturday next, between Winchester and l'imaru Saturday teams, commencing at 230 p.m. shavp. The following will represent Winchester :— T. L. Hart, Opie (3), Bhallarrt (2), J. P. Kalaugher, Steven, Moore, G. Tomlinson, F. Webster, 9. Clarke and H. Wright.
