A letter waa read from the Union Company suggesting that before the Board gave a definite reply to the Union a conference of employers and representatives of the Board should be held to discuss the Union's proposals, as it was not desirable that the interests of the shipping companiea should be prejudiced by any arrangement between the Board and the Union. After the whole question had been fully discussed the chairman said that the Board would give the utmost care and consideration to the matter and would notify the Union of its decis-
