CORRESPONDENCE.

KECKLbiSS DRIVING. TO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMARU HBRALD. Sir.,— lt is surely time some protest was made against the use of the m>ifn street by brakes and drags containing half-broken horses, especially when, as was the case yesterday, the driver of such a drag drives in a reckless manner, and is so busy thrashing his horses that he does not seem even to see the danger to any light trap in front. My horse yesterday was startled by the galloping irregular pnee behind, and succession of pistolshot cracks — a dozen or more — with j which the driver was urging his team. Instead of passing on my right, the drag made for the left side of the road, and the heavy vehicle swerved into us. I am, etc., A. Foster.
