Lloyd's surveyor at Fremantle, as the result of careful calculation, concludes I •hat the Waiknto is now within a few hundred mile-* of the Western Australian coast. From his deductions he concludes that she has already drifted 3600 miles nlrnoxt due easterly from the position where she was spoken by the vessel recently arrived at Newcastle, having been carried by a current assisted by canvas She should be approaching Cape Lcuwin at the rate of 14 miles a day. A sharp look-out has been ordered along the coast. Received September 14th, 12.20 a.m. London, September 13. A Reuter's des natch states that the gravest fears are expre-sed at Capetown for the safety of the Waikato,
