Lebret's Bill deprives the Court of Casßalion of the power to liberate Dreyfus, and leaves the ultimate decision to a court-martial. Charavey, a writing expert, who testified that the famous bordereau was m Dreyfus' handwriting, has now given evidence that the writing was doubtful, and said that he must re-examine the document. M. Mazean's report says that the threats to murder the Judges of the Criminal Couit led to them appointing Maitre Bard as reporter to the Court. The latter was unmarried, and if murdered fewer persons would be bereaved. Rectived February 3rd, 12.30 a.m. M.Meau Cruppi, the member for Toulouse and secretary of the Deputies Committee on M. Lebret's Bill, has prepared an amendment obliging the Court of Cassation itself to decide the innocence or guilt of Dreyfus. The Premier and a majority of the Cabinet favour this amendment, but M. Lebret declined to accept it. M, Beaurepaire declared that the criminal chamber of the Couit, before hearing M. Bard'B report or examining the dossier, resolved to pronounce Dreyfus innocent. Received February 3rd, 12.40 a.m. M. Blowiiz, the Paris correspondent of the Times, says that M. Beaurepaire and others are conspiring to sap the institutions, and are eager for the resignation of the members of the Criminal Chamber and the annihilation of the enquiry, thus saving a grateful army. The ultimate object of this move, M. Blowitz says, is unknown.
