ORANGEISM.

The regular monthly meeting of i oyal Orange Lodge, No. 15, was held m the Oddfellows' Hall, Barnard street, on Monday evening. Bro. Greig, W.M., presided, and all the officers were m their places. There was a good attendance of brethren. The lodge opened with due ceremony at 7.55 p.m. All due accounts were passed for payment. Letters of communication were read from the Grand Secretary, Christchurch, and from L.O.L. No. 37, Rangiora, which were duly received. The secretary read the balance sheet for the year ending September 19th, 1898, which showed the finances of the lodge to be m an extremely satisfactory position. The balance sheet was unanimously received and adopted. Much regret was felt on hearing of the serious iliness of acting Grand Master, Bro. Mangin, and it was decided that a letter of sympathy be sent to him. The installation ceremony was then proceeded with, the newly-installed officers from the W.M. downwards delivering noat and appropriate speeches. The sth of November anniversary committee reported arrangements for the gran:i concert well forward, and it was unanimously decided to attend the Primitive Methodist Church for divine service on Sunday, November 6th, the brethren to be notified through the Press. The secretary reported that the Grand Benefit. Fund was being appreciated by the members, new names being handed to him for enrolment. One candidate was proposed for membership. It was decided to present Bro. A. Greig with a P.M. certificate at an early date. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the visiting brethren, and bro. H. Toneycliife. W.M., and Bro. J. Mahan replied on behalf of No. 35, Timaru. A hearty vote of thanks to the retiring officers closed the business of the evening, and the lodge closed m peace and harmony at 10.15 p.m. Light refreshments were handed round, and a social half-hour, interspersed with songs, was indulged m. The singing of the National Anthem brought the gathering to a close.
