At an immense meeting in the City Temple, Dr Parker referred to Turkey as the Beelzebub of Europe, and urged its partition. A letter was read from Mr Gladstone, in which he said that the Powers were prostrate at the feet of an impotent Sultan, who sanctioned massacres daily and with their cognizance.
