CHRISTCHUfICH, August 12. The weather was cold and showery for the continuation of the Grand National meeting. The attendance was good, and the sum of £6976 was passed through the total isator. The coarse was heavy. The results were as follows :— August Handicap,' of 115 89 vs ; second horse, 10 soys ; i mile. Beadonwell 1 Marino 2 Lord of Misrule 3! Beadonwell led all the way to the straight. A struggle between him and Marino ended m the latter'e defeat by a head. This race was run m a blinding hailstorm. Time— lmin 2tysec.
