A London paper of June 4th says : — Big capitalists m the City are having so m ich money thrust upon them that they a.c finding it daily more difficult to obtain a profitable employment for their 8 n-plus balances. Yesterday there was quite a rush for " gilt-edged" securities on the part of big financial institutions vicing with the private investor. All the new creations of a choice description, such as the new issues of American railway bonds, are quoted at a premium ; a dozen municipal stocks advanced from 10s to £1 yesterday, and there was another record price m the Funds, Consols changing hands for cash at 106|.
