CHRISTCHURCH, August 3.
A lot of fair work was witnessed at Riccarton this morning. Norton easily beat Mystical over a mile and a quarter. Mutiny and Couranto went three miles m company fast pulling all the way. Both are m good form. Roscius pulled over Booties m strong work, and JBona Fide waß better than Austral at the end of the round. .Liberator went a fast round by himself, and Aurore ran three rounds fast. Kulnine made a mistake jumping the double, but afterwards fenced well. Triton beat Goodwood at six furlongs. Despised and Marechal Neil were given heavy work. Kahurangi has not yet got over the effects of his trip down. Donald MeKinnon was given strong work. Justice and lon both jumped the schooling fences well, but the former is lame arid the latter has cut himself. The weather though cloudy was fine, and the ground is drying wonderfully quick.
