AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

The eighth annual meeting of the Amateur Athletic Association was held to-night. Delegates were present from the Auckland, North Shore, Hawke's Bay, Gisborne, Manawatu, Wellington, Wangnnui, Nelson, Canterbury, South Canterbury, Kurow, and Dunedin clubs. Mr T. D. Oondell, South Canterbury, was m the chair. The balanoe-sheet showed receipts £l4o 3s,. and expenditure £48 15s sd, leaving a credit balance of £91 7s 7d. The report and balancesheet were adopted, Mr F. Wilding, Canterbury, was elected president, and presidents of affiliated clubs vice-presi-dents; L. A. Cuff was re elected hon. secretary, and E. R. Webb hon. treasurer; J. F. Logan, Auckland, and C. A. Knapp, were re-eleced local officers. Messrs Logan and Knapp were accorded hearty votes of thanks for pa9t services. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr L. A. Cuff and Mr Cusack, that the championship meeting for 1895-96 be confined to clubs affiliated to the association, to beheld m Christchurch on December 28th, 1895; that a meeting of delegates from affiliated clubs be held annually m the town whence the championship meeting is held for the purpose of considering questions of interest and making recommendations to the association, and that the athletic season commence on August Ist and end on July 31st.
