In a certain village near Cork, a few years ago two Irishmen weje repairing the roof of a cottage, and one of them who was on the roof wanted some bricks. There being no ladder, he shouted to his mate, " Pat, shure un will yer catch me if 1 jump ?" On receiving the answer 44 That he would," lie jumped, and Pat missed, him. On asking why he did not catch him, he said, " Bedad, I was waiting till yer bounced."
