TEMUKA HIGH SCHOOL.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMARU 111SUALD. Sir,—lt is to be hoped that the committee of the above school will exercise a little more judgment and forethought for the welfare of the school m selecting a teacher as third master than they have done m the recent appointment of Mr Strong as second master. Whatever others qualities Mr Strong may possess, he was not qualified by age. or experience to have been selected T>y the cpmmittjae for such an important position especially as other applicants were superior to him m all points. Mr Strong as fqiurth master a few months back was all right, but to have been rushed un m sucfr a short time to second master is a grave mistake, and it certainly appears as if jthe committee would rather run the risk 6i lowering the present high standard of th£ school than they would appoint a good'man who is not of the "right colour" according to their peculiar views. I am, etc., Observer.
