Autumn Handicap; 7 furlongs. Riel 1 Kit 2 Sixteen started. The race was run m the dark, and on entering the straight the three leading horses fell, two being killed and the third injured. The riders escaped with a severe shaking. The night was so far advanced that persons from the grand stand did not notice the accident. They only saw the finish of the race. Over £1800 went through the machine. THE PLUMPTON PARK MEETING. CHRISTCHURCH, May 5. At the Plumpton Park Trotting Club's winter meeting there was a good attendance, and the sum of £2045 passed through the totalisator.
