Melbourne, March 19. The Full Court dealt with the appea case of Mrs Mattingley, one of the 6"i married teachers dispensed with undei the retrenchment scheme, who brought a test case against the Government foi wrongful dismissal. Mr Justice a'Beckett held that her services had been legally dispensed with, but that she was entitled to salary by way of damages m addition to the £10 paid into court m satisfaction of all claims. Against this the Crown appealed, and Mr Justice a'Beckett's judgment was reversed except m regard to the £10. A FIRE. A fire at Lister and Go's., wine merchants, caused damage to the extent of £4000. All the insurances are local.
