i ■» ' (By Telegraph.) \ CHRISTCHURCH, January 10. r The Bible Christian annual district ) meeting commenced to-day. The Rev. t W. Ready presided. The reports from I various circuits showed that while there - had been great difficulties to meet there had been a satisfactory amount of suc--3 cess, and the outlook of the Church m y the colony was considered encouraging. c The question of Methodist union was t considered, and after a lengthy discuss sion the following motion was carried v by 14 to 3—" That we are still m hearty v sympathy with the organic union of all j the Methodist Churches m Australia, and are prepared to adopt the basis of union laid down by the various Metho- { dist Churches of Victoria and adopted I by the Wesleyan General conference of s 1894, recently held m Adelaide, and rei spectfully ask our English Conference a to allow us to go into the union as soon as the arrangements can be completed." r The first draft of stations resulted as follows ;— Christchurch, A. Mitchell ; Addington, B. H. Ginger ; Templeton, J. G. W. Ellis; Belfast, W. Grigg ; ;- Dunedin, W. Ready ; Cromwell, F. T. : Read ; Palmeraton North, F. Quintrell ; s Banks Peninsula, A. E. Stevens ; Waie kari, J. Orchard; Hawea, L. Regan; Way College, H, Beggs.
