NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the above Council, held at the Council Chambers, Timaru, on WEDNESDAY, the Twelfth Day of DECEMBER, 1894, the following resolution was adopted, viz.— " That this Council having duly considered the proposed new By-Law now before them, numbered 23, to repeal By-Law number 2, adopting the Ist, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th subdivisions of " The Municipal Corporations Act 1867," .made the Twenty Second Day of March, 1869, and the Building Regulations numI bered 13, made on the Seventeenth Day of December, 1875. " («) For prohibiting or restraining the use of combustible or dangerous materials m buildings. v (b) For regulating the distance from any other building at which it shall be lawful to construct any building. " (c) For regulating the construction as to dimensions and materials of the walls of buildings within the whole or any part of the Borough. u (d) For regulating the construction and materials of roofs, fireplaces and furnaces m buildings of eveiy description and the mode of enclosing and securing chimneys. "(e) For regulating and making provision for the construction of chimneys to cany away the smoke from fireplaces and furnaces of any kind, and for insuring protection from sparks . . therefrom, and for the prevention of nuisances from smoke. "(./) For appointing fees payable to the > Borough Fund not exceeding Two Pounds for each block of Buildings included ip one contract for any inspeciiioii superintendence or other service • performed by the Borough Surveyor or other Officer 6f the Council ; do hereby resolve that the said proposed By-Law be now made and adopted, and the Common Seal of Corporation, be affixed thereto, and that the ' said By-Law shall come into; force on the Seventh Day of February 1895, and that a special meeting of this Council be held on the Twenty-Eighth Day of January, 1895, to confirm this resolution." NOTICE is hereby further given that a special meeting of the said Council will be held at the said Council Chambers Timaru aforesaid on* MONDAY, the Twenty-Eighth Day of JANUARY, 1895, at 8.30 o'clock p.m. for the purpose of confirming the said resolution ; AND that a copy of the proposed By-Law is now deposited at the Office of the said Council at George Street Timaru aforesaid, and is open to. the inspection of the Public during Office Hours.
