The next mail for Fiji will leave Auckland per Ovalau, about llth instant. The Taviuni will leave Auckland for Tonga and Samoa on Bth instant. The next German mail packet leaves Melbourne 16th instant, post reaches Berlin 22nd November. The next Frenoh mail packet leaves Melbourne 30th inst., arriving at Marseilles 3rd November. A Post Offloe will be opened at Ashwiok Kat (schoolhouse), eight miles from Fairlie,,on the 2nd instant. Mails will olose at Timaru on Mondays, 430 p.m.; Thursdays, 330 p m.; and arrive back on * Wedneadaya and Saturdays, 10.35 a.m. Telegraph hours of attendance Timaru :— Week days, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 p.m. to 8 p m.; Sundays, sto 5.30 p.m.; holiday, 9to 10 a.m., 7 ro 8 p.m. Letter oarriers' deliveries :—Delivery begins 9 a.m., 330 p.m.; principal streets only, 11.30 a.m.; no afternon delivery on Thursday.
