One station in the Inverell district has started shearing under an amalgamation of the old and the new agreements, which waß arrived afc after a short conference between owners and men. Brisbane, September 29. Measles hare broken out in the police camps in the shearing districts. The official reason given for declaring the strike off is that the shearers consider they have won a fair advantage this year, and it is necessary to prepare for another tussle with tne employers in the near future. Received 6pm., Soptomber 30th. Sydney, September 30. The members; of the Typographical Society have taken a ballot with regard to the proposal of the employers to reduce' the wages of the jobbing printers from £3 to £2 123. The result was that the men have agreed to accept a reduction to £2 16s, and this compromise will be considered by the masters to-morrow.
