(By Telbgbaph.) OHBISTOHUBOH, Sepi'BMßjb 23. A largely attended publio meeting to con* eider the adviaableness of establishing a school of domeatio instruction was held yeaterday. Ihe MayM presided. Bosolutiona were carried to the following offeot :— That aa a necessary complement to the primary instruction m publio schools provision should be made for special instruction m the chief occupations of life, and that it is eminently detirable to tata immediate atepa to provide praotioal initructioo for girts m suoh subjects as household management, plain cooking and laundry work ; that tbe proposed iohool should be uuder the control of tab* aoribers of not lets than 10a per annum j that an application be addreßsed to the Government, begging that a grant m aid from the publio fund* equal m amount to a sum raiaed m any one year from private subscriptions and fees, and praying tbat m addition a anm of cay £150 be included m the Estimates for tbe current year and placed to tho credit of tbe Committee to aeiisfc m meeting the anaroidsble expenses of starting the school, A committee of tonnage, ment was appointed.
