Timaru Herald Office, Friday evening. THE MARKETS. The Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited, report as follows for the week ending Friday, October 6th, 1893 : — WHEAT. The disappointing news contained in tho last cable from London is disappointing whou holders svere exp cting a gradual improvement. Fowl wheat is in good request. OATB. A moderato demand exists for short and long feed, for coastal shipment. POTATOES. Stocks in this district arc practically exhausted, and retailers Had difficulty in supplying local requirements. Quotations are as follows : — Wheat— Velvet 2s 6id to 2s 7Vd, tuscan 2s sid to 2s 6id, red chaff 2s 4d to 2s 51, on trucks Timaru. Oats— Milling 2n to 2s Id, short feed Is lid, Danish Is 9d to Is lid, f.o.b. Potatoos— Nominal 70s to 755.
