TIMABU NAVAL ARTILLERY. I Thirty-three members of the Timaru Naval Artillery lay down to fire on Thursday in tho first competition for Lieutenant Thomas' trophy, the winner turning up in P.O. Waugh with u capital score of 64 points from scratch. Lieutenant Thomas takes Messrs King and Coe'a trophy as seoond prize. The day wai a good one for shooting, and as a consequence the scores were above the average for the start of tho seaton. The conditions were 15 ihctt at 200 yards ; any position.
