The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to-day, show the total reserve to be £18,330,000. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 53 82 per cent. Consols, 98. Three months' bills are discounted at 21 per cent ; the market is quiet. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 105$ ; 3k percent, ditto, 95. Frozen mutton, first quality, 3|d per lb ; second quality, 33d ; lamb, first quality, 3&d. New Zealand hemp is steady. Fair to medium quality, £19. .The wool market ie steady, with prices unchanged. Nevv Zealand long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, Is firm at 295. South Australian wheat, ex warehouse, is firmer at 30s 6d ; Victorian do, 30s. A Victorian 4 per cent, conversion loan of £2,107,000 is advertised for Monday, at a minimum of 96, repayable on January Ist, 1926. The various terms at which interest is payable are fully set out, but the high price demanded by the colonial Government has surprised city financiers.
