Some enquiries having been made about the New Zealand Land Association, Limited, the company at present carrying on the business of tbe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, pending reconstruction, Mr F. LeCreD) the local maoager, has furnished ua with the following particuUrs : — The New Zealand Land Association, is a registered liability company with its head office m London. The company waß incorporated on , the 24th of December, 1879. It. is controlled by tbe following board of directors: — Mr Thomas Russell, C.M.G, (chairman), Mr H. J. Bristow (Messrs Bonlay and Bristow), Sir James Fergusson, Bart., M.P., Sir John E. Gorst, Q.C . MF, Mr W. K. Graham (Messrs W K. Graham and 8ons), and Mr A. M. Mitchieon. The subscribed capital is £1,400,000, and the sum of £829,491 12s 6d is paid up. This association owns large pastoral and agricultural estates m the colonies of New Zealand, New gouth Wales, and Queensland, all of which aro m actual and profitable occupation. Tbe properties are valued at £1,181,535, and the only liability against the whole of these securities is a debenture debt of £345,600. From this it will he seen that the association is financially a very strong one.
