THE MURDER IN WELLINGTON.
* (Br TnirEOßApn.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 19. There was a large attendance this morning to see Finley and Seele brought up on the murder charge. Tbe court was full and a crowd outside lined the fences m eagerness to gat ■ glimpse of tho prisoners. Both men aru thick set and broad shouldered, but not tall. a Finley ia slightly under the av< ivge height. Soole was neatly drcesed but Fiuley bad no oollar.and his shirt was blood stained. His faco bore marks of ill usage, and hU appearance generally r;as m contrast to Seelo. The proceeding* were merely formal. Inspector l Thomsun said tho inquest was likely to last all t to-morrow and he wanted an adjournment for a week. Mr Hutchinsun, who appeared for Seole, asked till Friday, on the ground that his client, as ho was advised, was arrested under a misapprehension, and ought 1 not to be kept waiting for trial longer than I wos absolutely needful. His Worship acceded to tbo request and adjourned the proceedings till Friday. Finley'a account is that he had been subjected to great persecution on the voyage, especially from tho sailors, and when he met a group yesterday morning he thought ■ he was about to be mobbed, and used the t revolver m relf-defenco.
