LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD ACCOUNTS.
(Bx Telegeafh.; OHEISXOHUECH, Feb. 4. The annual statement of accounts of the Lyttolton Harbour Bourd, for 1891, shows receipt* £57.397 43 Bd, and expenditure £38.798 Os 4,1, leaving a surplus of £18.598 14b 9d. The asßets, including received sinking fund, aod harbour works and improvements, are £473,288 4s 3d, and the liabilities, including £200,000 loan, £204,265 4i sd, leaving a balance to credit, of £269,022 19s lOd. The wharfage dues returns show that, compared with 1890, thero was m 1891 a decrease of 7931 tons of goneral merchandise, 47,781 tons of graio, and 5581 biles of wool on which dues were paid. There -jvns, however, an increase of 16,422 tonß of coal and 7-9,743 superficial feet of timber. Dock dues amounted to £1503, and dock'oxponses to £440, leaving a credit balance of £1063. Since" the formation of tbe Board m January, 1877, the ordinary revenue has beon £463,899 la 51, and the ordinary expenditure £140,013 12s 4d, and intereat aDd tinking fund £164.366* 4s Id, leaving a surplus on ordinary account of £159,489 ss. The loan receipts for the same period were £231,569 15s 10d, and harbour works expenditure £372,089 5s lOd, leaving a deficit of £140 51 9 10a on harbour worka.wbich ' has been met out of the surplus cf ordinary 1 revenue, leaving a credit cash balance of £17,969 15s.
