AN EXPLANATION.

I

TO TUB EDITOR OF THE TIMARTJ IIEKALD. £Ib, — At tho last meeting of the Geraldine County Council, I am made to say that I declined to pay the maintenance rate. I do not object to pay a rate sufficient to pay tho ranger, but I object to tho Council levying as much rate m one year as tho ranger gets m two or more. But, porbaps, they are wanting a little to pay the Silcock law case. I am, &o , Henbt Cof iteb. Bmgiiata, January 15th, 1892.
