Timaru Herald Offioo, Tuesday evening. AUCTIONE3RS' REPORT. Messrs J. Mundell and Co., report sales for j the fortnight ending Saturday, Oct. 10th, 1891, as follows :— Since our last report an abundant supply of rain has fallen, effecting a complete chauge in the pasture, feed being now plentiful and stock owners are looking themselves again. At Goraldino yards on Tuesday, 28th September, tho entries for this sale consisted of 1080 sheep, 25 cattlo, and 12 pigs. The sale was dull from start to finish ; a fow lines, howevor, ohanged owners at the following quotations, viz. : — SHEEP. Three-quarterbred hoggets _ 12s S)d, - threequarterbred wethers and maiden owes, 2 and 4-tooth, 14s to 14s 3d. CATTLE. Cows, fat, £i, 2-yoar-old steers and heifers .£1 15s, pigs, strong stores, 7s to 8s 3d, weaners, 4s to ss. PLEASANT POINT. At Pleasant Point yards on Monday a moderate entry of stock was yarded. The sale throughout was dnll and dragging. Of onr entry we sold 90 threa-qnarterbrod hoggets at lis 4d, 60 three-quarterbred wethers and moiden ewes, 4-tooth, at 143 3d, 4 steers and heifers, fat, at £5 lOs, 1 store cow ,£2 12s 6d, 1 heifer springing £1 10s, 2 heifers 2-year-olds, at £2, 1 dry cow .£l. 1 cow in profit £2, 2 yearling heifers at „1 Is, 1 cow springing £!. TEMUKA YARDS. At Temuka live stock market, on Tuesday tho entry for the day consisted of 1900 sheep, 75 cattle, and 5 pigs. Although a steady rain was falling all interested in stock stuck to business, and the bulk of the entry was disposed of at satisfactory prices, a few of which we append : — Sheep — Three-quarterbred wethers and maiden ewes, fat, 16's, 16s 3d, to 16s (Jd, qnarterback wcther3 13s lOd, three-quarter bred hoprgets 13s 3d, three-quarterbred ewos in lamb 12s. Cattle— Cows, fat, £6 17a 6d to £7. lightweights _5 2s 6d to £rt 103, cows springing £i 7s b'd to £3, steers and heifers 3-year-olds .£3 7s 6d to £3 10s, ateera and heifers 2-year-olda .£1 15s to .£2, veariinsis 12s 6d to 173 6d, dry cows „1 to £\ 23 6d. Pigs — Porkers 133. LAND. Wo sold on account of the Hon. T. H. Wigley, 20 acrea partly bush, situatod in Maori Gully, to William Walkin at £7 per acre.
SHEEPSKINS, WOOL, &C. On Wednesday we held our usual fortnightly sale at the stores of the National Mortsrase and Agency Company, Timaru. We submitted au average catalogue to ahout the usual number of buyers. We have to report a farther decline in values, whioh are os follows: — Bntcher3' erossbreds 53 to 5s ld, medium 3s 5(1 to 4s Id, merinos 3s 6d to 4s, dry skins 4JI to 5d per lb, bas wool sd do, hides and ronjjh fat at late quotations.
