RACING CONFERENCE.

(Bjt Telegkaph.) WELLINGTON, July 11. A conference of Metropolitnn Jockey Clubs was held yesterday afternoon. The following delegates were present : — Hon L Walker and Mr Or. H- Clifford (Canterbury), Hon ft. McLean (Dunedin), Messrs H. D.'Bell and J. Duthie (Wellinglon), Meears F. B. Jackson and A. J. I^raons (Wanganui), Mr BaDohope (Taranaki),Hr"H. M. Lyon (Nelson), Mr W. Pollard (Marlborongh), Mr A. GuinneßS (Greymouth), Captain Husaell and Hon J. B. Qrmond (Hawkes Bay). The only business transacted was tlm appointment of Captain Russell as chairman. The conference then adjourned to 7 30 m tho evening. The Racing Coaforenco eat till nfter midnight. Of the Canterbury jockey Club'a resolution* Kos. 1 and 2 woro carried, and No. 3 withdrawn Tho Wellington Bacing Club's first motion was iigreod to, and Hule 38 was amended, roiling the minimum weight to bo carried by any horsa m a flat raco to 6at [Jibe. Of tho ton motionß givon notice of by the Auckland Jockey Club only the fourth was passed and the eiith wae referred to a sub-committee. The resolutions suggested by the Hawka'a Bay Jockey Club wera only partly C3nsidered. No?. 1 and 2 were carried and Nos. 3 and 4 negatived. The conference adjourned till 2 p.m. on Monday. i
