THE Counoil of the Borough of Timaru purpose making tho following Rates, at a Speoial Meoting to be held on MON DAY, the 22nd June, 1891, that is to say : — That an Annual General Bate of Sixpence m the Pound Storling be made on the values of tho rateable properties, os appearing on the Valuation 801 l for the Borough, now m force for the yonr 1891. That tho following Water Rates bo made j — In respeoj of the Ordinary Bupply upon all lands nnd buildings to whioh water is supplied whose rateable value on the Valuation 801 l Does not exceed £12 10s, a rate of ten shillings per annum ; Exceeds £12 10s, but does not exceed £300, a rate of fire per cent, on euoh value. Exceeds £300, a rato of four per cent, on such value. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can bo, but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks, a rate of one-half of the rates above mentioned. Upon all Buildings used as Btores or warehouses, or for any purpoeo other than n dwelling-house, a rate of 2£d per cent, on the rateable valueProviding that any dwelling-house remaining actually unoccupied for not less than si] monthß m any year, if the owner or occupiei gives notice m writing to the counoil of the dates on which tho same becomes vacant and on which it is again occupied, at rate of onl^ one half the amount otherwise payable.
