THE Oounoil of the Borough of Timaru purpose making the following Kates, at a Speoiai Meeting to be held oa MONDAY, the 22nd June, 1891, that is to Bay : — That an Annual General Bate of Sixpence m tho Pound Sterling bo mado on the values of the rateable proportion, rs appearing on tho Valuation 801 l for the Borougb, now m force for the year 1891. That the following Watov Bates be made: — In respect of the Ordinary Supply upon all landß and buildings to whioh water is supplied whose rateable value on the Valuation 801 l i Does not exceed £12 10a, a rate of ten shillings por annum ; > Exceeds £12 10a, but does not exceed ; £300, a rate of five per cent, on suob value. Exceeds £300, a rate of four per cent, on ■ . auoh value. Upon all lauds and buildings to which water can be, but is not supplied, situate , within one hundred yards from any part of tho Waterworks, a rate of one-half of the rates above mentioned. Upon all Buildings used as stores or warei houses, or for any purposo other than a dwdlling-houae, a rate of 2Jd por cent, on the rateable value. Providing that any dwolling-houso remaining aotually unoooupied for not loes than six months m any year, if the owner or ocoupier gives notice m writing to the couuoil of tho ■ dates on which tho samo becomes vacant end on which it is again occupied, at rate of only ono half the amount otherwise payable.
