1 SOTJTH CANTEBBUBY HABBIBES. J The meet on Queen's Birthday, Monday , last, was the favourite one at Mr T. Hamlyn'e, | and at 11.30 forty horsemen, ond soveral ladies and other m carriages, were present. The [ hounds were first of all trotted to a etubble ' paddook at the top of Mr Hamlyn's farm, ' and a hare was soon found which took a line ', over some wheat psddooka, back to the ' stubble, then another turn into the wheat, where the houeds ran into her m the open, and ■ the first kill of the day was the result of a fast and merry ran; After giving the hounds ' a few minutes' spell, they were taken to a ( grass paddook, where a hare was soon found and proved to be a regular straight-goer. Bounding ever Mr Hamlyn's paddook the bare orossed the road to the Levels, took a turn to the right into the Hadlow estate, over tho Level" , paddook again, crossed tho road into Gardner's, tbon right across Mr Hamlyn's, ' and afterwards bent towards Armstrong's, \ acrosß grass land to the wheat, through a wiro I fenoe into turnips, whore sho was lost, after one of tho most glorious runs of the season ; [ the time of this run being 40 minutes. A. l pleasant interval was then spent m disoußßing a choice and bountiful lunoh, after which hunting was returned, when the field had another couple of good runs, but the hare was j loßt eaoh time. Throughout the day tho hounds worked splendidly, thus showing the sterling oondition they were m. Mr J. 0. Park did the honours of Master m courteous ' style, riding Zoo. Charley Cornelius, the J. huntsman, had The Monk out before lunch, j and Selim afterwards i while Jack Shophard, ' the whip, had Every Day for the early work, y f and Gipsy Maid for tho afternoon. Among those riding to hounds were Mrs Cr. H ' Bhodes on Vanish, Mrs Inman on a roan, Mrs G-. P. Wood on Bothwell, Miss M. Aller on Blusboy, Messrs G. H. Bhodes and M Gray on ohestnuts ; Thompson, Blookmore and Gibson, on bays, and Smitbson on c black ; Bullook on the Blaok Babbit, Wood c on Juggler, Pringlo on Hookot, Hook on The c Foal, McLaren on Nero, Higgenbotham ot s Thimol, MoFarlane on Johnston's Luggage c Buchanan on Dorio, Elliot on Ohariie, ant F. Simmons on Oompetall.
