The Chinese have set fire to the Catholic mission station at Wuha, a river port m the Province of Nganhoei. AH the Europeans fled from the place and took refuge on the hulks m the ri»er Yangtzekiang. H. M.S. Inconstant has gone to the scene of the outrage to rescue the refugees. PORTUGAL. Lisbon, May 14. It is reported here that the AngloPortuguese difficulty m Southern Africa has been settled, and that perfect tranquility prevails. The financial situation is improving, and the Government have authorised the issue of bank notes of 1000 and 500 reis. ANTI-JEWISH OUTBREAK. London, May 14. Intelligence has boon received of an anti- Jewish outbreak at Corfu, and two perions have bean killed. A thousand are hurrying away from the island, fearing that their lives are m danger. A British warship has been ordered to the island to protect British residents.
