The Standard, m an . article on the Behring Sea fishery dispute, says it cannot believe that Mr Blame will be allowed to wautonly forco a conflict between the United States and England m order to overtramp his political rivals. Telegrams issued by Dalziel'a News Agency highly colour the discontent said to exist among .the people of Newfoundland. ; The formation of anti-British leagues is beingencouragedby'Americans. , ■• (Received 8 p.m., Jan. CtU.) The Marquis of Salisbury states that Mr J. G. Blame's last despatch, dated December 13th, m connection with the Behring Sea fishery dispute made proposals that the question be submitted to arbitration. A roply to this despatch is still pending, and the Premier states' that the alleged ultimatum of the British Ambassador is, therefore, without foundation. (Received 12.10 a.m., Jan. 7th.) Tho Government has decided to reinforce tho British squadron m tha Behring SI3R. It is reported that tho German fleet will proceed to Behrings for the purpose of protecing tho German sealers. The Standard's St. Petersburg correspondent telegraphs that Kußsia is mobilising her fleet off Siberia m order to resist tho American demands with regard to tho Bohring sea. . :
