— * -— ' ■ (By Tblbgbaph.) DUNEDIN, Jan, 6. At a meeting of tbe Tailoteeeaa' Uiijon to-night after the ordinary business tho president, Mr D. Finkorton, M.H.H., vacatod the chair and Miss Morrison, tbe secretary, presented him with a purse of 49 sovorcignß aB an acknowledgment of his services to the Tailoreasas' Union. Mr Pinkerton, m returning thanki, referred to the fact that laet election had resulted m the breakdown of tho barrior which had hitborto kept the working men out of Parliament. The labour members would bo keenly watched not only m tho colony but throughout tbe world and this placed responsibility on the sbouldors of those elected. Ho felt thin and would do his best to justify the confidence placed m him. Wbilo doing bis best for the labour party he would not bo a mare claea delegate. Now that tbe ice had been broken he was sure that they would never bo without men to represent labour. Ho felt sure that the working men would hare weight m Parliament and would bo listened to.
