CHRISTCHUBOH COEN EXCHANGE. The following is the Cbristohuroh Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday, Oot. 17th. 1890 :— Wheat — A few lines oE long-berried for export have changed bands ; millers are buying sparingly. Oats — Business is very restriotcd, holders being- disinclined to aocept the prices offering. Barley — The season may now be said to be over ; large stocks are held by brewers and m&lsters. Beans and peas— No alteration can be noted. Sales are difficult to effect, there being no outside enquiry. Holders of the former prefer shipping where they can obtain space at a reasonable figure. Potatoes are almost nnqnotable ; sales bare been made at 10s per ton at railway stations within the 12 miles' radius. 'Farmers who have been nnfortanate enough not to sell will have cause to regret the season of 1890, and to many the loss will be rninons. May we never have Bnch another disastrous season. Grass seed—Very few transactions are passing, the season being somewhat advanced. Dairy produce—Batter : The dry weather ia*affectiDg the ontpnt of moat of the dairies, and as a consequence lesi is being potted than is usual at this time of year.
