Wohaye been favoured' with'lhe following tranahtion of this most interesting document, ft runs as follows : — " To all the men of the Western seaboard. — This is a notice to all tho men of each ana* every imttlement to all the hapus (families) of the Wentern sea coasts of Aotenroa. Vote for me, O friends, and I will bear tho burdens of your troubles — tho annoyances you hare hitherto suffered and borne from year to year. When will you obtain a little reJress ? Make an effort. Give me your votes.and though my buck bo small to carry the weight, the strength was descended to mo from my ancestors. Was not Pokcke the Lees sent to Moeatoa by the small people ? O orphans, Q widows, O tho poverty stricken, vote for me to be returned. O ye chiefs, vote for me. O all ye tribes of Aotearoa, do nojt have twohearte m this matter. Am I not the grandson of Mango Taringatahi, thp grandchild of Kaihamuwahamauß, tho grand child I am of Kaurnkikotahi, and the deseendsntof Maniapoto and of Auokaha? Bo strong, therefore, to lift roe through to tho poll, and prove thoroby that, all the Maori people are m ono canoe.
